Amorgos
Magnetic and deeply mysterious, Amorgos attracts tourists from all over the world for the images depicted in “Le Grand Bleu”. The truth is, however, that even the cinematic lens of Lyc Besson and the romance of French cinema cannot capture all the wild and amazing beauty of Amorgos.
Sinse your home location is at Chora, the center of the island, you are at the best place to start a road trip.

Beaches
It is no coincidence that the sea of Amorgos was chosen to star in a movie. The famous Agia Anna, the stunning beach of Mouro, the exotic Kalotaritissa, the pristine beaches of Mikri and Megali Vlihada, and the little Paradisia stand out for their beauty and clear waters. Do not miss yet, the beautiful beach of Agios Pavlos, for a unique sunset overlooking the rocky island of Nykourias.

Chozoviotisa monastery
built in 1017 is literally hanging on the cliff side 300 m above the sea. The monastery is dadicated to Virgin Mary, which is the patron saint of the island.
A perfect blend of nature and the beauty of man’s creation, provides a breathtaking view of the sparkling blue waters of the Aegean Sea. It is with no doubt, the pride of Amorgos. And a tip from us: Prefer to visit the place, on early morning hours, or after 5:00 o ‘clock in order to avoid heat. More info
A road trip to Kato Meria
Kato Meria, is the Southern part of the island. On your trip, you will pass trough many villages and you will see a different aspect of Amorgos, with the inhabitants main occupation is fishing, agriculture and livestock. Vroutsi is the main village of the area wich succeeded Arkesini, one of the three ancient cities of Amorgos. At the end of your trip is Kalotaritissa, the sheltered harbor with the sandy beach, the crown jewel of Kato Meria.

Road trip to Norhern Amorgos
Aigiali: The picturesque and popular Aegiali is located northeast of Amorgos. This is the second largest port of the island, after the port of Katapola. Aegiali is found within a distance of 15 km north east of Chora and it is known as the nightlife spot of Amorgos.
Also, you can enjoy a sandy beach and many touristic places and shops.
Three beautiful vilages are just above Aegiali bay and we suggest not to miss a visit to.
The settlement of Tholaria is situated near Aegiali at an altitude of 182 meters above sea, with magnificent view of Kampos and Gialos. Tholaria has two main beaches, the Megali Glyfada and the Mikri Glyfada.
You will enjoy traditional food at: Sea Dream, or Santouraki.
Potamos and Langada settlements are just near-by and you can walk among them, following the famous walking path.
